Negotiations between the Ukrainian government and IFC concerning the investment in Ukrgasbank will be successfully completed soon. It was reported by Minister of Finance of Ukraine O. Markarova on her Facebook page. They discussed a number of common initiatives with IFC’s Vice President Georgina Baker. However, the main topic of their discussion was work with Ukrgasbank.
O. Markarova notes that this event confirms the effectiveness of corporate management, which has been implemented since 2015 by K.Shevchenko-led team of Ukrgasbank.
It should be reminded that IFC within the World Bank primarily focuses on developing country markets. Two years ago, the amount of long-term investments in this field was over $19 billion. Besides financial assistance, IFC provides its partners with information and expert support.
According to previously published information, IFC purchasing a share in Ukragasbank’s capital, which is currently fully held by the state, will launch the privatization of the financial institution.
